Reduce Image Size Free is intended to be usable by as many people as reasonably possible, including people who navigate by keyboard, use assistive technology, zoom content, or access the site on smaller screens.
Our approach
Accessibility is treated as part of the product and design work rather than as a separate afterthought. The site is continually reviewed for practical usability across the compressor, Journal, navigation, forms, and responsive layouts.
What we work toward
Our accessibility work includes:
- keyboard-accessible controls and navigation;
- visible focus states;
- clear labels and accessible names for interactive controls;
- reasonable color contrast;
- responsive layouts that remain usable on small screens and at increased zoom;
- touch targets designed for mobile interaction;
- semantic headings and content structure;
- text alternatives for meaningful images where appropriate;
- tables and code examples that remain usable on narrow screens;
- reduced reliance on hover-only interactions.
Standards
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) as a reference when improving the site, with WCAG 2.2 Level AA as the general target where practical.
Because the site is continually evolving, we do not claim that every page or third-party component is perfect or that every accessibility issue has already been eliminated.
Known limitations
Some browser-native image behavior, third-party resources, generated content, or older content may behave differently across combinations of browsers, operating systems, and assistive technologies.
