Does AVIF work in Safari?+
AVIF encoding via Canvas isn't supported in Safari. The tool detects this and falls back to WebP automatically with a notification.
What is the smart format advisor?+
After compressing, the tool analyses each image for transparency. PNG with no transparent pixels in PNG format? It tells you to switch to WebP for ~60% more savings. Transparent image going to JPEG? It warns you the background will be white.
Can I resize and compress at the same time?+
Yes — enter target dimensions in the resize fields on the right. Everything happens in a single canvas pass from your original. No re-encoding, no quality loss.
What quality setting should I use?+
For web use, 75–85 gives barely noticeable quality loss with 60–80% file size reduction. The slider updates as you drag.
How does ZIP download work?+
